How to Fix Scratches

Lending a Hand to Clarksville Area Ford Drivers
If you like to keep your car looking brand-new, there's no way you'll live with a scratch on the exterior. Thus, we at Apple Ford are here to tell you how to remove scratches on your own. With a little help from us, that scratch will be gone in no time.
While there are many products said to do the trick, we're going to tell you what we would buy. While miracle pens are the most cost-effective way to approach the problem, they're not likely to produce the best outcome. So, we recommend Automotive Touchup's kit. This kit includes everything needed for your vehicle's make and model, and it costs approximately $50.00.
What to Do:
Make the scratch worse: This may sound crazy, but you have to sand away at the scratch first. You'll want to sand it down to the bare metal.
Apply sandable primer: This spray will fill in the sandpaper scores you just created. Apply three coats (waiting 5-10 minutes between applications). A lot of this process involves waiting; however, if you rush it, you will see signs of the scratch when finished. Patience is a virtue here.
Apply the base coat color: Spray coating and then sand gently again. You will repeat this process a few times (using softer sandpaper after each coat). Once again, make sure to wait a few minutes in between applications.
Apply the gloss clear coat: The last coat you apply will be a clear one. This will seal the deal. By the following morning, the paint should be hardened!
All set to take to the open highway!
